Responsibilities

Under the broad supervision of the Senior Director or Regional Vice President of Quality & Systems Improvement (QSI), and in close collaboration with the SouthWest QSI team, the QSI Manager is responsible for data management and professional education for Health Strategies and QSI products including but not limited to Get With The Guidelines, Mission: Lifeline and healthcare certification programs.

The successful applicant will access, translate and evaluate data to support sales and retention of QSI products creating meaningful and relatable communication for QSI customers. In collaboration with QSI Directors, the QSI Manager will plan and execute educational offerings for internal and external customers, working with the AHA Professional Education department to obtain continuing education credits and executing event logistics across the SouthWest region.

This is a remote position supporting AR, CO, OK, NM, TX, WY. Must have access to a major airport for travel within the region.

Essential Duties

  • Monitor; access and report data available through Microsoft Dynamics (MSD)

  • Identify gaps in MSD and research and expand account data available

  • Compiles regional data reports to meet the needs of the QSI team and customers

  • Plan; write; submit and follow-up continuing professional education applications

  • Be the primary contact for all speakers for professional education events

  • Identify training needs for the new and existing QSI Directors and create materials and training to meet those needs

  • Execute appropriate logistics and promotion for all education medium: virtual, in person, online

  • Provide event management including location contracting, technology, food, materials, registration and post event follow up

  • Contract support; oversite and interaction with AHA legal

  • Pricing support; creation of clear communication of program cost for hospitals and systems

  • Performs related work as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Advanced Skills in Microsoft Dynamics

  • Skill in event planning and management both in person and virtual

  • Skill in Microsoft Office – specially Microsoft Excel

  • Skill in use of WebEx; Skype; Zoom or other virtual meeting tools.

  • Willingness to learn/use simple computer programming (VBA)

  • Skill in prioritization of work product supporting a large team

  • Skill in understanding medical education regulatory requirements

  • Skill with SharePoint management

  • Skill with website and social media posting

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Skill in understanding group and individual dynamics

  • Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel to events

  • Ability to participate in meetings, work in a team environment and interact with all levels of AHA staff, volunteers and public

  • Ability to drive a car and provide reliable transportation

  • Ability to maintain a current driver’s license

Required Experience:

  • Experience working with quality improvement programming, public health, direct patient support or degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment is preferred; Experience and education may be substituted for one another

  • Experience in project management that demonstrates the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects independently, complete projects thoroughly, on time and within budget

  • Demonstrated ability to gain collaboration of internal and external stakeholders in achievement of identified goals

  • Experienced with AHA Quality products and system improvement activities preferred

  • Database or health registry experience

  • Professional Medical Education program planning experienced preferred

  • Must have the ability to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% in the assigned territory
