American Heart Association Senior Quality Programs Manager, Heart Failure in Dallas, Texas

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Quality Programs Manager in our Quality Health & IT department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! This position can be remote but must live near a major airport.

Please NOTE: This is a three (3) year grant funded position which may be extended based on results

This individual will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of regional quality programs and systems in the assigned markets for improving care and treatment of Heart Failure patients. Responsible for building and coaching a team of regional Quality Programs Managers to optimize market penetration. Responsible for developing key partner and customer relationships in a variety of healthcare sectors, such as: hospitals, clinics, SNFs, Quality improvement organizations, Payor groups and other stakeholders. This position will also work closely with several different departments within the national office to ensure success.

  • Oversee and supervise staff market facilitation of stakeholder meetings, hospital consultation and conferences in coordination with initiative deliverables

  • In coordination with staff partners and volunteers, establish sustainability plan for all components of grant

  • Provide consultation to market staff, direction and support on hospital and clinic barriers to support better heart failure care and outcomes.

  • Meet regularly with Director of Business Alliances to report progress, barrier solutions to project deliverables. Act as the QI liaison for internal workgroups

  • Travel to markets as needed to guide progress.

  • Communicate regularly with leadership to assure tasks are completed according to grant timeline. Work with national staff partners through ongoing face-to-face meetings to ensure grant deliverables are being met according to timeline

  • With leadership and market staff, analyze results of training, education and in-hospital data to continually evaluate next steps and needs in the defined market. Ensure that issues related to data (within Get with The Guidelines) are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Science, Public Health, Nursing, or related area

  • Five (5) years of experience in healthcare or in a public health-related organization: clinical, quality improvement, program development and systems improvement. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position's educational requirement.

  • Three (3) years of supervisory and/or project management experience;

  • Basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2007 or higher used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets

  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers and the public

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision

  • Proven background and willingness to work in an atmosphere requiring flexibility and change

  • Ability to travel up to 30% both locally and nationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of heart failure

  • Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office applications
